Tell us about yourself. Who do you work for? What is your job title and role? Where do you live? Tell us about your family.

I am the Assistant Chief Market Conduct Examiner for the Texas Department of Insurance. I live in Round Rock, Texas and am a single mother of two (2) adult children, and three (3) grandchildren and a proud momma of two (2) spoiled fur babies.

Tell us about your involvement with IRES. How long have you been an IRES Member? What made you decide to join? What roles at IRES have you held? Have you served on any committees? Have you held any leadership roles? If so, why did you decide to get involved at the leadership level?

I have been an IRES member since 2014.

Tell us why you find involvement with IRES to be valuable.

Involvement with IRES allows you to keep up to date with other states, to meet great people with valuable knowledge, and build great friendships.

Do you have any wise words/tips for new IRES members or those that are new to insurance regulation?

Get involved in committees, attend the live webinars, get to know other people in IRES. I wish I would have started sooner.

When you are not working, what are your passions/hobbies?

My family, traveling (my bucket list includes Jerusalem, Ireland, Greece, and an Alaskan cruise), watching football, and church.

What do you see as your biggest accomplishment? Personal or professional.

After relocating from El Paso, Texas to the Austin area as a single mother of two teenage children, I worked a full-time job, raised my children and completed my master’s degree with a certification in Accounting.
