CE Deadline Approaching: Report Your Credits Early to Stay on Track
As summer winds down, so does the current National IRES Continuing Education (NICE) Program compliance period. Whether you’ve already completed your continuing education (CE) activities or still have a few credits left to earn, now is the ideal time to review your progress and submit your CE.
Key Deadlines
August 31 - Deadline to complete all CE for the current compliance period
September 30 - Deadline to submit all CE credits to IRES
Submitting early helps ensure your credits are processed smoothly and gives you time to correct any issues before deadlines arrive. Early reporting also gives you a clear view of your progress toward the 15 credit requirement and helps you:
Confirm your credits were accepted
Resolve any submission errors before deadlines
Avoid the end of September rush
Keep your transcript accurate and up to date
Extension Requests
Requesting an extension under the NICE Program is an option for members who, due to unexpected circumstances, are unable to complete the required 15 CE credits by the August 31st deadline. If you anticipate falling short, you may apply for a one-year extension, which provides additional time—through the end of the next compliance period—to earn the credits needed for both years. Extension requests must be submitted before September 1st, and approval is not automatic; you’ll be asked to provide a brief explanation of why the extra time is needed.
If you have questions about CE requirements, how to submit your credits, or how to request an extension, please consult the NICE Program Manual or reach out to the IRES office.
