As my tenure as IRES President draws to a close, I find myself reflecting with deep gratitude on the remarkable work accomplished by our Executive Committee and the dedicated volunteers who make this organization thrive.
Much of this year's progress was shaped by a comprehensive review of committee responsibilities and a renewed commitment to seizing new opportunities. I am truly in awe of the passion and dedication demonstrated by our committee members. When I challenged IRES members to get more involved, many of you answered the call. I hope you continue to experience the rewards of committee participation and carry that momentum forward.
Below are some of the highlights from this past year's committee work:
Accreditation and Ethics Committee: Identified new ways to promote the CICSR designation and updated the AIE/CIE applications to reflect discontinued courses.
Finance and Budget Committee: Introduced greater financial transparency, giving committees clearer visibility into their associated expenses.
Career Development Seminar (CDS) Committee: Achieved record-setting sponsorship for CDS — a special thank you to the IRES Foundation for increasing its sponsorship from $10,000 to $15,000 this year. We are incredibly grateful!
Education Committee: Proposed and drafted a framework for awarding credit hours for recorded webinar attendance.
MCM/AMCM/BHPA Committee: Began development of a Pharmacy Benefit Manager Management program designation.
Meetings and Elections Committee: Secured three new venues for CDS meetings for 2027, 2028, and 2029.
Members and Benefits Committee: Updated the State Chair Handbook and revised the Exit Survey for non-renewing members.
Publications Committee: Successfully launched three editions of The Regulator and recommended integrating this work into the Education Committee going forward.
Executive Committee: Proposed and advanced IRES Bylaw changes.
You will hear more about the accomplishments of these committees during the Board of Directors meeting in August. In the meantime, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our outstanding Committee Chairs for their exceptional leadership this year:
LeAnn Crow, Chris Heisler, Craig Leonard, Bob McManus, Shelly Schuman, Chrystal Bartuska, Brett Bache, and Michelle Heaton.
This year's achievements were truly a team effort, and I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished together. Thank you for the privilege of serving as your President.
Warm regards,
Mary Nugent
President, IRES
