Course Waivers

Where such a course waived by one of these organizations is in the curriculum required for the AIE or for the CIE designation, IRES will recognize such a waiver and grant credit for completion of that course. In the event that a student obtains such a waiver, IRES will grant no more than one course waiver to a student working toward the AIE or CIE designation. Such a waiver may apply only to attaining an AIE or a CIE, but not for both.
Certified Insurance Consumer Service Representative (CICSR)
The Certified Insurance Consumer Service Representative (CICSR) designation has been designed for both regulators and industry. It builds on an educational commitment for insurance consumer/customer service and market regulation. An applicant for a CICSR designation must have two years of full time experience with an insurance regulatory agency (includes regulatory contractors), or in the insurance industry. The applicant is required to have earned one of the ACS designations offered by LOMA or AICPCU, and then must pass four optional courses from a list of approved courses.
A list of approved courses can be found in the CICSR Application.
Market Conduct Management
The Market Conduct Management (MCM) designation program is designed to provide hands-on-training for regulators and insurance industry professionals on how to efficiently and effectively manage market conduct examinations and to promote the interests of insurance regulators. It is a unique and practical program designed both for the experienced professional and those wishing to enhance their regulatory and compliance career.
Unlike the other IRES designations, the MCM program does not rely on self-study courses. Rather to earn the MCM designation, individuals are required to read the MCM textbook, attend and 2 ½ day in person program and pass a certification examination.
